This week the Commerce Department's retail report is expected to announce that with September numbers, sales are up for the third straight month for U.S. retailers. CouponCabin.com is also seeing a strong month over month increase in sales and great promise for a strong holiday shopping season, particularly with online shoppers.

Based on CouponCabin.com numbers from over the Labor Day weekend, Scott Kluth, founder of CouponCabin, is forecasting a strong holiday shopping season. Visits to CouponCabin were up dramatically over the months of July (148%), August (54%) and September (205%) 2006 compared to the same months in 2005. In September alone, online shoppers clicked on over 754,000 "coupons and deals" and used them for over $6.2 million in sales for merchants resulting in consumer savings of $486,000.

AtomicShopping(TM), an Innovative On-Air and Internet Based ...

AtomicShopping(TM), an Innovative On-Air and Internet Based ...
MINNEAPOLIS, BUSINESS WIRE -- AtomicShopping(TM) TV premiers October 17th in the Twin Cities on Comcast(R) Cable's Channel 13 from 10:00 P.M. to Midnight Tuesdays and Thursdays and 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturdays (channel 23 for former Time Warner(R) subscribers). At least the majority (70 percent) do who say they often or regularly shop just for fun. In the last few years as the retail industry approaches $4 trillion in sales, the number of retail shopping destinations has exploded. With many more stores available to them, shoppers today demand more when they shop than just to select merchandise — they want new experiences too.

Some of the nation's largest retailers, notably Gap, Pier 1, Sharper Image and Zale, have been slow to respond to the new trends in shopping. Others are making historic changes to transform shopping in their stores to make it more fun. For example, Macy's has just gone national, rebranding its 800 regional department stores and launching an aggressive advertising campaign to the upbeat tune "Dancing in the Streets", while Wal-Mart has abandoned it's 'one-store-fits-all' model for a local initiative based upon a neighborhood demographics that gives local managers more control over the stores' merchandise and the shopping experience.

Consumers Procrastinate Online Holiday Shopping

Consumers Procrastinate Online Holiday Shopping
Holiday shoppers are expected to spend $32 billion online this season, with purchases happening well past ground shipping cutoff dates. "The percentage of the population that doesn't buy online is fairly small," said Sehgal.

Energizing Economic Transformation through Venture Capital

Energizing Economic Transformation through Venture Capital
Previous speakers discussed details of private equity financing and strategies: such as fundraising, completing due diligence work, and examining exit strategies. The Bahnhof Altona shopping centre is situated in a prime location at the citys Altona rail station, which is used by 100,000 city commuters every day.
The northern port city of Hamburg, with a population of 1.8m, is one of Germanys most prosperous. This shopping centre, with a total area of 15,850 square metres, has a mix of leading retail chains, an expansive food court, and 500 multi-storey car parking spaces. The initial yield from the shopping centre is 6%. The investment has been made on behalf of CMC Capitals German Commercial Property Syndicate clients. We are pleased to have acquired such a prestigious property for our investors, said Richard Kingston, Director of CMC Capital. The property contributes to the positive cash flows of the syndicate thanks to the relatively high yield, and it also has excellent capital appreciation prospects.
